How to use the Minuteman Library Network Catalog

1. First, select a location where you would like to find a book or article. Using the drop down menu select: MassBay Community College to search our library database.If you don't find what your looking for at this location, try a different location or choose: all locations collection.
   
2. Next, type in the name of the title, author, or keyword you wish to find in the search for box. Finally, choose the search by: keyword, author, title, journal title, or subject.Keyword is used to find anything that pertains to one or all the words. Ex: death penalty, pediatrics, abortion.
   
3. Click the search button.
   
4. The search results are shown on the webpage. The keywords column displays any records returned in your search. The next column displays the format: a book, a CD, a video, etc. Finally, the year column tells you when the item was published.
   
5. Click on a blue link under any title to display more information on the title of interest.
   
6. The resulting blue outlined box that shows you where the book is located, what its call number is (where to find the book in the library), and the status of the book (AVAILABLE, REFERENCE ONLY, or OUT).
