Office of Grants Development

The Office of Grants Development is responsible for identifying and securing grant funds to support the College’s mission and Strategic Plan. The Grants Development Office, in conjunction with the College's Executive Committee, considers grant opportunities from the vantage point, "Does this align with our departmental goals, current initiatives, and future plans?"

Grants Overview

At MassBay, applying for grants is a collaborative pre-award process. The Office of Grants Development works closely with faculty and staff to develop, prepare and submit grant proposals. Proposals are submitted to federal, state, and private foundations to support expansion of current programs as well as new innovative programs. The grants that the College applies generally work towards the following goals:

  • Support a learner-centered environment that encourages student success and academic excellence, preparing graduates to thrive in a diverse, dynamic and global environment.
  • Establish innovative partnerships that meet regional workforce needs, and that boost employment and earnings outcomes for students.
  • Build on existing efforts to connect education and work through internships and apprenticeships, particularly for students who historically have faced significant barriers to economic mobility.
  • Expand both clinical and non-clinical skills training capacity and increase equity-led educational access for students. This capacity-building support helps to create a robust pipeline of highly skilled workforce talent.

Services

In addition to providing oversight of the application process, the Office of Grants Development provides a variety of support services such as grant writing, labor market and impact analysis, logic model development, literature reviews, budget development, and the creation of supporting/required documents. The Office serves as the College’s Authorized Official Representative (AOR) who has ultimate authority for the final submission of grant applications.
