Capstone Experience Course (CS281)

The Capstone Experience course (CS281) is your final step toward earning an Associate degree in Cybersecurity. In this course, you'll apply the knowledge and skills you've gained from your previous networking and security courses.

In order to register for this course, you first need to meet with the faculty teaching this course to discuss the options and finalize your choice. You may choose to 1) work as an intern at an organization working on security related tasks, 2) work on a security relevant project, or 3) study and pass CompTIA Security+ certification exam.This course is designed to give you a solid understanding of what it takes to be a security professional.

Securing an internship is a crucial step in your career journey. Here are some tips to help you get started:

  • Start Early: Begin your search at least the semester before you want to intern. Many companies start recruiting for summer internships in the fall.
  • Schedule a Career Services Appointment: Contact Career Services to learn about the internship process. We can help you complete your resume and work on your LinkedIn and Handshake profiles. We can also connect you to resources and opportunities to aid in your search.
  • Visit the Career Services Internship Page: Check out the resources available at MassBay Career Services and enroll in internships.
  • Stay in Touch: Keep in contact with Career Services throughout your internship. If you have any concerns or issues, we're here to help.
  • Provide Feedback: Let us know about your experiences at your internship sites. At the end of your internship, please reach out to Career Services to share your impressions.
