WELLESLEY HILLS, Mass. (March 21, 2022) — MassBay Community College has installed three electric vehicle charging stations thanks in part to a $50,000 grant from the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) Massachusetts Electric Vehicle Incentive Program (MassEVIP) Multi-Unit Dwelling and Educational Campus (MUDC) Charging Program. The program assists residential and educational property owners in the Commonwealth install electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, making charging stations more widely available across Massachusetts.

“We are proud to embrace the technology of the future at MassBay and are pleased to provide EV charging stations to our MassBay community and to the general public as well,” said MassBay President David Podell. “Promoting this environmentally sound mode of transportation for our students, faculty, and staff is a priority of ours, so we are delighted to have these charging stations for EV drivers. We thank the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection for their funding, which made the electric vehicle stations possible.”

Two of the three charging stations are located in the faculty and staff parking lots near MassBay’s Wellesley Hills campus building. The third EV charging station is in the lower student parking lot off Oakland Street and is accessible to the general public. These three EV charging stations charge six vehicles.
