Nursing Programs

The Nursing programs at MassBay include a 2-year full time associate degree program that prepares students to become Registered Nurses (RNs) and a 10-month full time Practical Nursing Certificate for those who wish to become Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs).

About the Nursing Program

Located on our Framingham campus, our Health Sciences programs are taught by field-tested experienced faculty. You will experience hands-on learning in our well-equipped classrooms and laboratories, as well as gain field experience in hospitals and clinics. You will graduate with the knowledge and skills you need to transfer to a bachelor's degree program or earn your certification or licensure as a nurse.

Spring 2025 MassBay Nursing Programs Admission Policy

For the incoming Fall 2025 Practical Nursing and Associate Degree Nursing Classes, MassBay will only accept only the TEAS admission exam score. For the incoming ADN Nursing class, the deadline to apply is October, 2024. MassBay will only accept only the TEAS admission exam score.

In order to be considered for admission to the ADN program students must have all of the following:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, or associate degree or higher
  • An overall GPA of 2.5 or higher
  • Students must achieve passing scores on the ATI TEAS.
    • Passing scores are defined as a minimum composite score of 63% and achievement of the following subtest scores for all categories:
      • Reading: 69 or better
      • Math: 67 or better
      • Science: 50 or better
      • English: 60 or better
    • Students may repeat the test a total of two times within 12 months of taking the exam. Results are valid for three years.

In order to be considered for admission to the PN program students must have all of the following:

  • High School diploma or equivalent, or Associate Degree or higher
  • Students must achieve a passing score on the ATI TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills). A passing is defined: a minimum composite score of 60%. Students may repeat the TEAS test a total of two times within 12 months of taking the exam. Results are valid for three years. The most recent test results will be used for that admission cycle only.

Nurse Assistant Program (C.N.A.) — Workforce Development Vocational Course

Nurse Assistants perform vital hygiene and daily living functions of patients in their care. They are also responsible for positioning and transporting patients, obtaining vital signs, maintaining a clean and safe living environment, and for monitoring the overall health and safety of their patients. In just 8 weekends, MassBay prepares Nurse Assistant Training students for the Red Cross Nurse Aide Competency Evaluation (NACE) test, an important step in finding employment in the field.
