Career and Transfer Outlook

Many MassBay students continue their education at local institutions such as:
  • Bridgewater State University
  • University of Massachusetts-Lowell
  • University of Massachusetts-Amherst
  • Northeastern University
  • Wentworth Institute of Technology
  • WPI
With a bachelor’s degree, you can pursue diverse and exciting roles:
  • Civil engineers design and oversee the construction of bridges, roads, and pipelines. They collaborate with architects and contractors to ensure project success, surveying sites, testing ground conditions, and maintaining construction materials. They also develop solutions for weather and geological challenges.

  • Chemical engineers develop faster computer chips, and work on innovations in recycling, disease treatments, water purification, and energy generation. Chemical engineers impact various fields, including energy, environment, biomedicine, electronics, food production, and materials science.

  • Biomedical engineers design prosthetic limbs, artificial organs, and the materials used to manufacture them. They develop software for medical equipment and apply their knowledge of science, math, and medicine. Specializations include bioinstrumentation, biomaterials, biomechanics, genetic engineering, and medical imaging.
