MassBay Advanced Manufacturing STEM TRANSFORM Program
MassBay Community College advanced manufacturing students collaborate with local industry leaders such as SMC, Ltd., a medical and pharmaceutical device manufacturer, and General Dynamics Systems, an aerospace company, to create an innovative engineering project to find solutions to real-world problems.

Advanced Manufacturing Certificate Programs
MassBay offers two 12-month, three semester fast track Certificate in Advanced Manufacturing programs. These programs feature stackable credits, and provide students with exciting future pathways, including entry into an advanced manufacturing jobs. Credits transfer to our associate degree programs in engineering design or other relevant subjects.
Advanced Manufacturing Innovation
Our hands-on programs are for people who like to operate and solve problems with technology. If you have always been hands-on, figured things out for yourself, made it work, then this may be the field for you!
Our programs feature:
- Hands-on work on state-of-the-art equipment you’ll use in the field.
- Authentic, industry provided projects you complete in the classroom.
- A paid internship/CO-OP, where you’ll earn money while gaining academic credit.
- The most affordable price anywhere.
Graduates from the Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Certificate program may select to open their own small manufacturing business or seek operational positions in a manufacturing company.

Advanced Manufacturing Technology
For students who are technically minded, this program is for you. Also a 12-month, three semester long fast-track program with stackable credits, the Advanced Manufacturing Technology Certificate program works well for students interested in positions as detailers, drafters, CAD operators and CNC programmers, and QA/QC Technicians.
In addition to hands-on course work and projects, the program features an internship/CO-OP component where students earn credits while working in paid positions in the field.

MassBridge
MassBay is also a MassBridge School. Funded by a U.S. Department of Defense grant with a goal of creating a manufacturing technician training program that will serve as a national model, MassBridge is being led by the Massachusetts Center for Advanced Manufacturing along with a team of experts from MIT, industry, community colleges, vocational high schools, and federal and state agencies.
