WELLESLEY HILLS, MA (May 24, 2012) – Massachusetts Bay Community College (MassBay) is set to hold the 50th Commencement Exercises in its history, and the first under President John O’Donnell on Thursday May 24th on their Wellesley Hills campus, 50 Oakland Street.
The College will honor Jonathan A. Bower with a Distinguished Service Award for his 10 years of service as a member of its Board of Trustees. Mr. Bower will then deliver his keynote address.
Mr. Bower served as Chair of the Board for five years and is currently Vice-Chair of the Board and Chair of the Finance, Personnel and Audit Committee. He has distinguished himself in the field of education software and works as the CEO of Young Broadcasters of America (YBA) Communications training tweens and teens in verbal communications and Internet broadcasting skills.
Founded in 1961, MassBay celebrates the 50th graduating class at this year’s ceremony. In addition, 538 Associates Degrees in Arts and in Science and Certificates will be awarded. Awards for Distinguished Service, Distinguished Alumni and for academic achievement will also be presented, and the Wellesley Symphony Orchestra will provide musical accompaniment.
The community is invited to join with family, friends and alumni to celebrate our 50th annual Commencement exercises at 6 p.m. on the Wellesley Hills campus of MassBay.
