Scholarships for Current MassBay Students

If you are currently enrolled at the College, you may apply for scholarships through ACADEMICWORKS by using your MassBay username and password to login. We begin accepting scholarship applications on the first day of course registration for each semester.

You must be registered in the current semester for your application to be considered. After completing the general scholarship application, you will able to view and apply for the scholarships offered in a particular semester. Each scholarship has unique criteria and requirements.

50th Reunion Scholarship

The 50th Reunion Scholarship was created and is supported through gifts from the Alumni of MassBay Community College 50th reunion classes.

Alumni Nursing Scholarship

The Alumni Nursing Scholarship was established by nursing graduates of MassBay Community College to assist current MassBay nursing students.

Alumni Scholarship

This scholarship was created and is supported through gifts from the Alumni of MassBay Community College. 

Angelina Grimaldi Cioffari & Vincent Grimaldi Cioffari Scholarship

Angelina Grimaldi Cioffari was a professor of French, Spanish, and Italian at MassBay Community College from 1964-1980. Her son, Vincent, established the Angelina Grimaldi Cioffari scholarship in her memory to support a student who demonstrates high academic success at MassBay.

Automotive Technology Scholarship

The Automotive Technology Scholarship was established to assist students with tuition, tools and/or books who are enrolled in any of the MassBay Automotive Technology Programs.

Boston Marathon Scholarship

The Boston Marathon Scholarship was established before the running of the 2017 Boston Marathon, spearheaded by Susan Maggioni, Ph.D., J.D., Dean of Business & Professional Studies, to support students pursuing an associate degree at MassBay Community College.

Communications Studies Scholarship

The Communications Study Scholarship was established by Professor Deborah London and Theodore Sturman to support students pursuing a Liberal Arts Communication Associate Degree at MassBay Community College.

Cybersecurity Scholarship (full-time student)

The Cybersecurity Scholarship is funded by the generous sponsors of the Information Security Summit established by Towerwall and MassBay Community College. This scholarship supports a full-time student enrolled in the Cybersecurity associate degree or certificate program.

Cybersecurity Scholarship (part-time student)

The Cybersecurity Scholarship was created and is funded by the generous sponsors of the Information Security Summit established by Towerwall and MassBay Community College. This scholarship supports a part-time student enrolled in the Cybersecurity associate degree or certificate program.

Debi Prasad Sodhani International Student Scholarship

The Debi Prasad Sodhani International Student Scholarship was established to support MassBay Community College international students in good academic standing at the College, who have completed six or more credits at MassBay. 

Dr. Bruce Jackson Endowed Scholarship

This scholarship was established with gifts from the friends of the late Dr. Bruce Jackson to support MassBay students pursuing an associate degree or certificate in STEM fields. 

Dr. Yves Salomon-Fernandez Scholarship

This scholarship was established by the MassBay Community College Foundation Board to honor Dr. Salomon-Fernandez for her commitment to MassBay Community College and its students. This scholarship was established to support MassBay students pursuing an associate degree or certificate. 

Ferris Family Scholarship

This scholarship was established by Howard Ferris, former Dean of the Automotive Technology Program, to assist new or returning, full-time or part-time Auto-Tech students with tuition, tools and/or books who are enrolled in the MassBay Automotive Technology Program.

Growth and Generosity Scholarship

The Growth and Generosity Scholarship was established to support a student who can demonstrate, through an essay, his/her own growth and generosity and/or why they believe growth and generosity is important. The donor of the scholarship believes that the key to life is growth and generosity. 

Health Sciences One Semester Certificate Program Scholarships

The Health Sciences One Semester Scholarship was established to support students enrolled in one of the MassBay Health Sciences one semester certificate programs: Central Processing, EMT, or Phlebotomy. It was designed to assist individuals start or restart their education to reach higher-levels of employability.

Health Sciences Scholarship

The Health Sciences Scholarship was established to support students pursuing a career in Health Sciences at MassBay complete a degree or certificate program. It was designed to assist individuals start or restart their education to reach higher-levels of employability.

Krystle Campbell Scholarship

Krystle Campbell graduated from MassBay with an Associate Degree in Business Administration in 2005 and transferred to the University of Massachusetts, Boston to pursue her bachelor degree. She tragically lost her life at the age of 29 in the Boston Marathon bombings on April 15, 2013. MassBay Community College created the Krystle Campbell Scholarship in her memory to support a business major pursuing an associate degree at MassBay Community College.

Leonce Cadet Berotte Scholarship

The Leonce Cadet Berotte Scholarship was established in honor of Leonce Cadet Berotte, father of Dr. Carole Berotte Joseph, President of MassBay Community College 2005-2011. The scholarship is awarded annually to one student who is a deserving international/immigrant dream chaser attending MassBay Community College.

Louise Mayer Scholarship

The Louise Mayer Scholarship was established by Ted and Denise Mayer to honor Louise Mayer, R.N. by supporting students pursuing a career in the Health Care industry.

MassBay Community College Foundation Board Scholarship

The MassBay Community College Foundation Board Scholarship was established and is funded by the MassBay Community College Foundation Board to support MassBay students pursuing an associate degree or certificate.

MassBay S-POWER Engineering Scholarship

The MassBay S-POWER Engineering Scholarship supports a student pursuing an associate degree in Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering who plans on continuing their education in an energy field at a four-year institution. Energy fields include but are not limited to renewable and energy generation, electrical distribution and storage, energy efficiency and infrastructure, materials for energy. The National Science Foundation (NSF) Scholarships in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (S-STEM) program addresses the need for a high quality STEM workforce in STEM disciplines supported by the program and for the increased success of low-income academically talented students with demonstrated financial need who are pursuing an associate degree.

Maxine Elmont Endowed Scholarship

The Maxine Elmont Endowed Scholarship was named in honor of Maxine Elmont, Professor of Human Services at MassBay Community College. It was established to support a student 25 years or older re-entering college and majoring in Human Services at MassBay.

Richard P. Carbone Scholarship

The Richard P. Carbone Scholarship was established to support students are who interested in pursuing a college education at MassBay Community College. Richard P. Carbone was a Wellesley Assistant Principal from 1968 until he retired in 1985.

Robert and Rosemary Murphy Scholarship

The Robert and Rosemary Murphy Scholarship was established in memory of Robert and Rosemary Murphy, life-long residents of Needham, Massachusetts to support a MassBay Community College student who is either a Needham resident OR a graduate of Needham High School.

Salomon-Fernandez Scholarship

MassBay Community College Interim President Yves Salomon-Fernandez, Ph.D. (2015-2016), a firm believer public education, established the Salomon-Fernandez Scholarship to support international and immigrant students who are pursuing a College education.

Single Parent Scholarship

The Single Parent Scholarship was established to support a student who is a single parent with full/joint custody of minor child/children pursuing a college education.

STEM MENTOR PROGRAM SCHOLARSHIP

Each semester the STEM Mentor Program supports three STEM Division students:

  • An international student — an immigrant or international student not eligible for federal financial aid
  • A self-supporting student — a student not listed as a dependent on parent’s federal income tax and/or not receiving financial support from parents or guardians
  • Any STEM student

Scholarships will be awarded to students pursuing an Associate Degree or Certificate who are active participants in the STEM Mentor Program.

The Brenda Tierney STEM Scholarship

This scholarship was named in honor of Brenda Tierney, the first MassBay Community College Goldwater Scholar.  It was established to support MassBay Students pursuing an associated degree or certificate in the STEM fields.

The Felix and Nellie Juliani Scholarship

This Felix and Nellie Juliani Scholarship was established in memory of Felix and Nellie Juliani who were passionate about education and the importance of community service and family values in one's life.

The Gladys Brooks Foundation Endowed Scholarships

These scholarships were established with a generous gift from the Gladys Brooks Foundation to support high achieving students who are single parents pursuing a college education with full/joint custody of minor children.

The Marc Stanton Endowed Scholarship Fund

The Marc Stanton Endowed Scholarship Fund was created with gifts from friends and colleagues of Professor Marc Stanton, a beloved professor at MassBay dedicated to his students.  He served as a devoted Criminal Justice faculty member. He was a sincere and conscientious mentor for his many students, advising them throughout their educational and career paths in law enforcement. During his time at MassBay, he had taught and helped launch the careers of state and federal police officers, corrections officers, lawyers, paralegals and many other law enforcement and legal professionals.  The scholarship was created to support MassBay students studying criminal justice and meeting the terms criteria.

Virginia F. Sapienza Scholarship

The Virginia F. Sapienza Scholarship was established to support a student pursuing the arts (visual arts, music, writing, photography) at MassBay Community College. Virginia F. Sapienza was a long-time dedicated music professor at MassBay Community College.
