WELLESLEY HILLS (October 19, 2012) – At age 16 Jothy Rosenberg lost his leg to cancer and at age 19 he was told he had no chance of surviving. Leveraging a strong will, a passion for extreme sports, and internal fortitude, Mr. Rosenberg earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science at Duke University, authored several books, and started eight technology companies. He has completed the Boston to New York AIDS bicycle ride (375 miles), and has ridden the Massachusetts Pan-Mass Challenge (192 miles) eight times. He has also finished the San Francisco – Alcatraz swim 17 times.

In addition to his business success, Mr. Rosenberg has thrived as a motivational speaker and leader, encouraging other cancer survivors to continue their fight. He is a Newton resident.

MassBay Community College is proud to kick off its inaugural Innovation and Leadership Speaker Series with Jothy Rosenberg as the keynote speaker on Thursday November 1st from 10:00 am – noon in the McKenzie Auditorium on the first floor of the Wellesley Hills campus.
