I dropped out of high school at age 16 and didn't know what I wanted to do with my life. Everybody says that you have to go straight to university after high school, but most people aren't sure what they want to pursue at that age. There's a lot of pressure to do the same path as the majority of people, but what's right for one person isn't necessarily right for another.
After I dropped out of high school, I took a year off, worked, got my GED at 18, then came to MassBay. I think MassBay was definitely at the top of my list because it's local, and I knew a lot of people who also went here.
I would say that the best things about MassBay are the environment and the people. I remember the first day that I toured the campus. All of the teachers and staff were very accommodating and made me feel like I fit right in. Many of the professors have been so helpful and they really support the students to succeed in their classes. I want to thank so many professors and my academic advisor for all the help they've given me.
Right now, I'm studying psychology. I want to be a psychologist and help people suffering with mental health issues. After MassBay, I want to transfer to a four-year university and pursue my bachelor's in psychology. MassBay is a great place to go. If you're not sure what you want to do in life or what you want to study, MassBay is perfect, because there are so many people who might be in the same boat as you so they know how to help you. It feels like a family at MassBay.
