MassBay STEM Expo | Fall 2024

December 9-13, Monday-Friday | Online Forums and video, chat with makers!

The STEM EXPO recognizes the creativity and contributions of our students and faculty over the course of the semester in the disciplines of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics and seeks to foster alliances with secondary schools, higher education, and private industry in the region.

Our exhibition highlights student-developed projects that demonstrate the multi-dimensional skills, problem-solving capabilities and talents of our diverse student body.

  • On campus Wednesday, December 11 from 1-2pm
  • Virtually for an asynchronous video exhibition anytime Monday, December 9 through Friday, December 13.

We invite you to:

  • Join us on campus on Wednesday from 1-2 to talk to the presenters.
  • Join us online Monday through Friday to browse through the pages and watch short videos of student projects in the areas of Science, Computer Science, Engineering, and Mathematics. Presenters will be checking the page once a day to reply to comments and questions.

ENGINEERING

Water Purification by Lydia Tonani, Sean Branagan, Dominick Marascio, Charles Moses, and Huy Huynh

In an attempt to purify water for the population’s use, our project utilizes reforestation, electro flocculation, atomic bond formation and magnetic separation to remove heavy metals.

 
 
COMPUTER SCIENCE

Fred’s Fish Tank by Megan Lew

An interactive fish tank based on the Strategy pattern created using JavaFX.
