WELLESLEY HILLS, Mass. (October 1, 2024) — MassBay Community College is offering accelerated classes in October, enabling students to earn college credits in just eight weeks. “8-Week 2” courses begin on October 28, 2024, and conclude on December 22, 2024. The accelerated classes are offered online and on campus in Wellesley Hills, Framingham, and Ashland.
“These accelerated courses are designed to help students earn credits in a compact timeframe to fit students’ busy lives, while advancing them towards graduation quicker,” said MassBay President David Podell. “Students can explore our course offerings in computer science, history, economics, English, health sciences, marketing, sociology, and many other subjects that will keep them engaged and working towards their goals. And, now with classes being free at MassBay for eligible students, they can take advantage of earning a degree without the financial barrier of paying for the courses.”
Recently, under the leadership of Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey, Senate President Karen Spilka, and the state legislature, the state established free community college for Massachusetts residents who do not hold a bachelor’s degree, regardless of age or income. Students must complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and be enrolled in an approved program of study for six credits and have earned a high school diploma or the equivalent.
