“We are extremely grateful for the on-going support from our partners at Subaru of New England,” said MassBay All Brand Automotive Technology Coordinator Mike Amos. “MassBay is dedicated to educating and training the next generation of high-quality auto technicians, addressing the nationwide shortage. Donations like these demonstrate the local industry’s commitment to ensuring our students are workforce ready.”

MassBay’s Auto Technology is the leading automotive training facility in the New England region. It offers programs sponsored by four major automotive brands including BMW, Toyota/Lexus, General Motors, and JEEP/Chrysler/Dodge/Ram. In addition, MassBay offers a non-manufacture specific All Brand General Studies program, which provides students with a broad education and hands-on training on multiple types of makes and models of vehicles.

Students gain experience on the newest cars using state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment. The program includes a paid co-op component, allowing students to earn money and college credit while learning in a professional setting. These programs provide students with in-depth, product-specific automotive technology education. MassBay’s automotive program has a 99% placement rate of graduates into full-time jobs by graduation.

Subaru of New England has been supporting the MassBay All Brand program since its inception in 2022, donating several vehicle engine and transmission units and offering students practical experience through the co-op portion of the auto tech program.

“Subaru of New England and our Subaru retailers are proud to partner with the All Brand Auto Technology program at MassBay Community College,” said Subaru of New England Subaru University Manager Jeff LeClair. “Today’s automotive technicians require advanced diagnostic and repair skills to manage sophisticated vehicle features and evolving drivetrain technologies. We are optimistic that the recent donation of a late-model Subaru Outback will significantly enhance students’ career development and understanding of current customer needs. Subaru is excited about a productive future with MassBay and is honored to mentor the next generation of skilled automotive professionals.”
